Who We Are
What We’re All About
WULF is a nonprofit organization dedicated to encouraging and expanding outdoor engagement among Black children and families, a community that has historically been underrepresented in these spaces. Our purpose is not to fight for a seat at the table, but to create opportunities that inspire curiosity, growth, and connection.
By introducing families of color to outdoor experiences, we help broaden perspectives, nurture family-centered traditions, and promote meaningful community interaction. These immersive experiences not only encourage exploration but also plant seeds for a deeper understanding of self, nature, and the world around them.
Through strategic partnerships and community support, we provide access to outdoor recreation, creating memorable moments that spark new ways of thinking and being. WULF is about building bridges—between people and nature, families and traditions, curiosity and knowledge.
Let’s grow together. Let’s explore freely. Run with the pack.

Empower
ACTion
ACT (Action, Cohesion, Time) is a program designed to introduce Black children and families to enriching, first-time outdoor experiences. Rooted in curiosity and community, ACT opens the door for participants to become part of a growing group of Black outdoor enthusiasts who are discovering new joys outdoors.
While past statistics reflect a lower rate of outdoor participation among communities of color, our focus is on changing that narrative by creating pathways to access, education, and engagement. ACT empowers families to explore on their own terms—building traditions, uncovering new interests, and strengthening community bonds along the way.
Through thoughtful outdoor experiences, we help reshape perceptions and broaden the scope of what’s possible. ACT isn’t about checking a box—it’s about planting roots for future connection and knowledge.
Together, we create room for reflection, growth, and discovery. And through ACT, we prove that.
